Proclear

CooperVision’s Proclear family is designed to offer exceptional levels of comfort for all types of wearers, with contact lenses catering for short-sightedness, long-sightedness, astigmatism, and presbyopia in both daily and monthly disposable forms.

Their PC technology allows for “improved comfort for contact lens wearers who experience mild discomfort or symptoms relating to dryness during lens wear”. The technology works by attracting the eye's natural tears and binding them to the surface, holding water against the lens for longer. This stops it from evaporating, preventing dryness and makes Proclear lenses an excellent choice for dry eye sufferers.

Proclear lenses are amongst our best-sellers, with Proclear, Proclear 1 Day and Proclear Toric being particularly popular. They also offer a world-first with Proclear Multifocal Toric, designed for simultaneous correction of astigmatism and presbyopia.

Proclear are soft contact lenses from CooperVision, designed to maintain comfort during extended wearing periods. They use PC Technology, which incorporates phosphorylcholine (PC) molecules into the lens material to attract and bind to water for all-day hydration. Proclear is available in monthly sphere, toric, and multifocal formats, as well as 1 Day daily disposable variants.

PC Technology uses phosphorylcholine, a naturally biocompatible molecule mirroring the phospholipid layer found in cell membranes. Built into the Proclear lens material, PC molecules attract and bind water to create a consistently hydrated lens surface throughout the wearing period.

Yes. CooperVision offers a full Proclear range for different prescriptions. Proclear Toric monthly contact lenses are available for astigmatism. Proclear Multifocal and Proclear Multifocal XR monthly contact lenses are available to correct presbyopia. Proclear 1 Day Multifocal extends this to a daily disposable format. Your optician will advise which Proclear variant best suits your prescription.

Both Proclear and Biofinity are monthly CooperVision contact lenses, but they use different materials and prioritise different benefits. Biofinity is a silicone hydrogel lens using Aquaform Technology, delivering high oxygen transmissibility, ideal for wearers who need long wearing hours or extended oxygen supply. Proclear is a standard hydrogel lens using PC Technology, prioritising moisture retention. Proclear is typically recommended for wearers who experience dryness or mild contact lens intolerance, while Biofinity suits wearers who want maximum breathability.

Proclear monthly contact lenses are designed for daily wear and should be replaced every 30 days. Remove them each night, clean and store them with a suitable multi-purpose solution, and replace with a fresh pair after 30 days. Proclear monthly lenses should not be worn overnight. Wearing lenses beyond their replacement date or overnight without guidance increases the risk of deposit build-up and eye health complications.
